"Mermaid Twist” - Original, Framed

24k hand-ground palladium and gold, malachite from locally owned, Gem State Crystals, hand-crushed into pigments and made into watercolors, 205 Swarovski crystals, compass and straightedge construction  ~8"x8" in and 9"x9" frame. In 2022, I had embellished it with local Idaho garnets from and area where my mother grew up. However, they were irregular in shape and didn't stay on very well. I put it aside for a while and then in the winter of 2023, I removed the garnets, changed the name from "Idaho Twist" to "Mermaid Twist" and added all of the crystals. It is quite the dazzling piece. I have made one other like it only with azurite which is now in a private collection. It sold though before I took any clear photos.
