Nine Pointed Stitch Ornament

I haven't made anything like this besides this one and given the trouble it gave me to make, I probably never will. I am sure a seasoned stitch geometer could have made it without having to redo it about six times but not me. In two of the photos, you can see the geometry drawing that I did that it is based on and that drawing is based on the analysis of Dr. Lisa DeLong from her studies of the Al-Azam Palace in Damascus. Trying to get the stiches to look pretty on both sides was what about did me in. The paper is hand made by and artist that sells at the Dehman Barin in Washington where I also sell artworks. The thread dates back to one of my most memorable grade school art supply purchases and the paper is gilded in 24k gold and caplain leaf. The beads are Czech glass.
