12”x12” in a ~16”x16” frame # 3 of this size and a triple matting. Limited edition Chinese and Indian-inspired Sandalwood Star Cream illuminations are individually hand gilded with 24 kt gold, signed and numbered. Much more gilding is done one these than on their smaller 4"x4" counterparts.
Each museum-quality illumination is made with bright archival water resistant inks on velvety smooth lightfast acid free pH neutral 100% α-cellulose German Etching paper by Hahnemühle who’s papers have been prized in European houses of nobility for centuries for their highest levels of craftsmanship and superb durability.
| Only 500 Sandalwood Star Cream illuminations each of three sizes will be made from digitally weaving together two colored pencil illuminations set in a cream background with an orange border. ~ A Chinese design with warm saffron hues originally created for a friend of mine who loved Chinese culture and his bride of Indian decent, this resplendent artwork almost seems to lift off the page like an immortal phoenix soaring at sunset. © BKS 2008 |
